Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST) has selected Layer3 to keep its wide area network secure with Juniper Networks; Firewall/VPN and IDP technologies ensuring comprehensive delivery, use and threat control across its distributed network.
The new infrastructure will involve the headquarters data center backbone to be built using Juniper`s routing and security solutions. The NIPOST WAN will connect its Abuja headquarters with branch offices across all the states in Nigeria. Layer3’s solutions will help to deliver, accelerate and secure the pace and quality of new online services being introduced by NIPOST, such as mail tracking and the organization’s key internal applications used for financial , mail and human resources.
To secure this network infrastructure, Layer3 will deploy the Juniper Networks SSG Solution, which includes the SSG Series Secure Services Gateways. The Juniper Networks SSG Series with Unified Threat Management (UTM) will provide comprehensive protection against current and emerging network- and application-layer attacks.
Layer3’s solution will enable NIPOST ensure continued business productivity without compromising security. The solution combines user identity, roles and responsibilities, and endpoint security state information with network location information, to create a dynamic access control policy for each remote user per access request, ensuring employees have flexible, secure and differentiated access to its network resources and applications.
A number of Juniper Networks firewall/IPSec VPN appliances will be deployed for remote and vendor/partner access to NIPOST’s network. The Juniper Networks SSG 140 and Juniper Networks SSG 5 appliances will provide security and site-to-site access to NIPOST’s data center at the headquarters as well as vendors who do business with NIPOST.
